Known as “the best marathon for beginners,” the MCM is also the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money, earning its proud nickname, “The People’s Marathon.”

This iconic race offers an unparalleled journey through some of the most recognizable landmarks in the country. Runners begin between the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery, continue through Rosslyn, and cross into the District to tour Georgetown and the National Mall before “beating the bridge.” The course then returns to Arlington, passing the Pentagon, winding through Crystal City, and finishing uphill (yes—uphill!) at the Marine Corps War Memorial.
