Javier Del Riego

Learning Manager

Javi is the Learning Manager for Boulder Crest Foundation and has worked alongside Struggle Well since 2022 as a Master Guide and manager of various special programs. Working alongside an amazing team, he is able to help manage and bring PTG education to various communities through the Learning to Thrive program for secondary education and refugee support lines of effort. Javi graduated from the University of Miami with a BFA in Acting with a special sub focus in Theatrical Design and carpentry. In addition, he received his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Florida.

After several years as an actor and master carpenter, Javi found a hidden passion for teaching. This hidden passion led him to a rekindling of his love for learning as he became schooled in multiple methodologies to engage the brain in learning. It is here in his story where he fortuitously received an invitation to attend a Struggle Well class.

After learning about the psychology and tenants of Post Traumatic Growth, he became enthralled with learning as much as he could of the subject matter as well as finding and developing avenues and ways to bring his learning to the students in his classroom. Through the help of Boulder Crest and the Learning To Thrive program he has been able to help bring PTG to students in need as well as refugees seeking assistance with their traumas. He hopes to continue his endless quest for learning while helping as many individuals as possible by any capacity possible.

Javi currently lives in Miami with his significantly better half and his fur baby Maggie. He enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and video games with his friends on the weekends along with learning as much as he can about the culinary arts as he firmly believes a happy belly leads to a happy heart.
