Harry is the Director of Training and Curriculum for the Boulder Crest Foundation. Harry has been a Warrior PATHH alumni since 2019. In 2020, he became a Warrior PATHH guide for the Travis Mills Foundation and a Struggle Well guide for Boulder Crest. Harry is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Master of Arts in World War II Studies. Harry’s mission is to inspire wounded warriors and others to recognize their extraordinary potential and make the world a better place for the next generation.
Harry is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief (SEAL) with over twenty-two years of experience in Naval Special Warfare. Harry served at SEAL Teams Two and Four, conducting numerous deployments to South America and Europe. He was then screened and selected for Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG), where he served 12 years, making multiple deployments to Southeast Asia and the Middle East to support Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
During his tenure at NSWDG, Harry was an operational leader, coordinating, planning, and executing hundreds of special operations missions in dangerous enemy-held territory. His awards include five Bronze Stars (three with Valor), two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, three Presidential Unit Citations, and various other unit and campaign awards.
After Harry retired in November 2011, he became an Independent Contractor and continued to deploy to the Middle East. On October 22, 2015, during a deployment to Afghanistan, Harry stepped on a landmine in Kandahar province, which immediately amputated both of his legs. Thanks to his courageous teammates, the DUSTOFF helicopter crew, the field trauma team, and the support from his wife and family, Harry not only survived but is thriving with a new appreciation for life.
Harry lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with his wife, Julie, who has faithfully supported him throughout his long Navy career and difficult recovery. Harry and Julie have a German shepherd service dog named Dakota and two beautiful and successful daughters, Amanda and Ashley.
