Despite living in Loudoun County, Virginia, Jeff never realized what all the Boulder Crest Foundation had to offer, especially for someone who was a first responder. He originally thought BCF was only for those with military experience. Jeff never realized the tremendous positive impact the Warrior PATHH program would have on his life.
Jeff’s passion for service began at a young age, volunteering at his local fire house at the age of 17. The early exposure to life and death incidents made him grow up faster than his fellow high school peers. He continued volunteering while pursuing various jobs after high school, until he finally found his dream profession as a paid firefighter/EMT with a local fire and rescue department. In addition to all the typical calls for service, Jeff was involved in the following programs during his career: swift water rescue, uniformed fire officer, safety officer, and other department-led initiatives.
After a combined 32 years of service (volunteer and career), Jeff finally made the difficult decision to end this chapter due to both the physical demands after an injury and the chance to spend more time with his family. It was during the end of his career that he was introduced by a friend to the possibility of attending the Warrior PATHH program, and he is forever grateful he took the chance and submitted his application. After completing the Warrior PATHH program, it allowed Jeff the opportunity to process the trauma he experienced throughout his career, utilizing learned wellness practices, and providing him the chance to finally thrive.
Jeff currently resides in Loudoun County with his wife, two sons, and their dog. He enjoys spending time outdoors (especially anything near or in the water), metal detecting, and traveling and exploring new places with his family.
