Jonathan Mayberry was born and raised in the small town of Tifton, GA. Jonathan always looked up to and respected his grandfather, who retired from the Army. After graduating high school in 2001, and following in his grandfather’s footsteps, Jonathan joined the Army in 2002.
Jonathan went on to serve 8 years in the Army as a 13B (Artillery). At just 19 on his first deployment in 2003 he found himself on the streets of Baghdad Iraq, where he was wounded just two days apart. Jonathan deployed again to Baghdad in 2007-2008. After trying his best to stay in the Army Jonathan medically retired in 2010.
After years of struggling from family and military experiences Jonathan tried many methods to overcome them, but nothing seemed to work. In 2019 Jonathan found himself at The Big Red Barn Retreat in SC where he found great results with Equine Assisted Therapy. He later attended the first Warrior PATHH program held at The Big Red Barn Retreat in October of 2020.
After he completed Warrior PATHH Jonathan knew he had found his passion. He began his training to become a PATHH Guide and later was given the opportunity to join the Mobile Training Team in February 2022.
During Jonathan’s downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, grandfather, and pets.
