Affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Armstrong is Co-director, At UNCC’s charlotte behavioral health & resiliency psychology clinic. Known as a distinguished researcher with a primary focus on early childhood mental health. She explores the role of family risk, parenting behaviors, and language development in shaping child emotion regulation during the toddler and preschool years. Dr. Armstrong aims to refine intervention strategies to support low-income families in raising young children and promote their well-being and development.
