Affiliated with Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, Friedman is a distinguished psychiatrist and pharmacologist. He holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an M.D. from the University of Kentucky. Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in research and clinical work related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress, and psychiatric disorders. He has published over 200 papers, including seventeen books and monographs, and received numerous honors, including the ISTSS Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. Dr. Friedman’s expertise has been recognized internationally, and he has played significant roles in various research, education, and policy committees.
