Mike was born in Great Falls, Montana, and raised in a small copper mining town called Morenci,
Arizona. Mike always wanted to serve his country, and like most, the events of 9/11 ignited that desire.
On his deployment to Iraq, he was wounded by a gunshot to the head. He recovered at Walter Reed
Army Medical Hospital in Washington, D.C. Upon completing rehabilitation, he re-enlisted and joined his
unit for the next deployment to Afghanistan. Mike retired from the Army in 2013.
In 2014 he joined the Georgia Aquarium Dive team. He assisted in running the Veterans Immersion
program providing therapeutic swims and dives with whale sharks and thousands of other sea life. This
is where he found a calling to help his fellow warriors. With the urge to do more, he joined the Shepherd
Center SHARE Military Initiative to help construct their national outreach program and deliver their
mission to clinicians, veterans, and first responders. His mission was to share and learn, and this is
where he was introduced to Warrior PATHH and attended in 2018. He has worked in the Warrior PATHH
community since 2019 and now serves the MTT- Bravo.
Mike lives in Georgia with his wife (Tiffany) and three children (Abigail, Beau, and Charlie). He spends his
time helping on the farm, mountain biking, running, playing golf, and attempting flint knapping.
