Heather is a Bluemont native, born and raised on sixth-generation family land. After graduating from Clarke County High School in 2019, she began her studies at Christopher Newport University before transferring to Liberty University’s online program prior to COVID-19 shutdowns. She graduated in December of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in business entrepreneurship with a minor in psychology. She centered her entrepreneurship program around developing a business concept designed to support service members as they transition out of the military.
In the summer of 2021, Heather joined an IT sales government contractor as a sales intern and was rehired following summer as a full-time employee. Over the next three years, she remained with the company through two acquisitions, contributing across multiple teams including sales, sales support, and contracts management.
During her studies through Liberty, Heather discovered Boulder Crest’s research while taking several military psychology courses. The more she learned, the more she admired the company’s impact on the lives of service members and first responders. Inspired by both Boulder Crest’s work and her personal connections to the military community, Heather knew she wanted to contribute to the mission firsthand. In her free time Heather enjoys knitting, writing, reading, tennis, paddle boarding, and playing fetch with her Golden Retriever, Bodhi.
