Rob Brandt

Struggle Well State Director - Arizona

Rob was born in Staten Island, NY but grew up in Tucson where his family moved when he was a child. Rob worked and attended college before being hired as a corrections officer for the Bureau of Prisons. In 1995 Rob joined the Tucson Police Department where he served as a member for 28 years. His career with the department was both diverse and exciting, working in assignments from Patrol, Bike Unit, Basic Training Officer and SWAT Operator. Rob promoted to sergeant in 2007 and supervised various units including Night Detectives, SWAT, FBI JTTF, Intelligence, and Field Training.

In July 2022, Rob was asked to assist in developing the Department’s first Wellness Unit. In this assignment, Rob focused on improving the well-being of all department members, and retirees. He managed several programs designed to improve the health and wellness of department members, all centered around Struggle Well. Rob served as a mentor and auxiliary peer support sergeant, and he continues serving as a reserve officer with the Tucson Police Department.

Rob is a founding member of the 9/11 Tower Challenge Foundation, an organization dedicated to never forgetting September 11th by holding a stair
climb challenge on that date each year. Rob lives in Tucson where he loves spending time with his wife, three children and two grandchildren and spends much of his time working and enjoying the outdoors.
