Zerriah’s connection to Boulder Crest Foundation began shortly after her father, a U.S. Air Force veteran, completed the Warrior PATHH program. Zerriah, who goes by “Z”, was born in Italy and raised in a military family with roots in New Mexico. Z moved frequently throughout her childhood but no matter where life took her, one constant remained – her love of horses.
After her father was medically retired and awarded the Purple Heart, her family settled on a ranch where they care for a wide variety of animals. Including horses, emus, sheep, turkeys, and many others. Growing up on the ranch gave Z extensive experience in animal care and management while reinforcing her appreciation for hard work and service. In addition to ranch life, Z also worked as a diesel mechanic, maintaining light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles. When she’s not under the hood of a truck, you’ll likely find her fishing on the lake or competing with her horses at local rodeos.
Zerriah is married to her husband, Fabian, a first responder. Together, they share a commitment to serving their community and supporting those who dedicate their lives to serving others. While caring for our herd, she is grateful for the opportunity to support the Connection Module and recreational activities at Boulder Crest Foundation and help create meaningful, memorable experiences for veterans, first responders, and their families.
