This sponsorship represents the cost of our Military Teen Retreat, which gives kids from military families a place to get away and connect with the peers who understand them best. Deployments, base life, and constant moving can take a toll. These retreats aim to give military teens a new network of support while making friends and learning valuable lessons that are adapted from our Warrior PATHH program.

What is a Military Teen Weekend?

This meaningful program allows teenagers the chance to be themselves amongst peers who can truly understand the sacrifices of military families. During this retreat, teens participate in activities adapted from modules taught in our Posttraumatic Growth based Warrior PATHH program – including archery, equine assisted learning, and team building – and they have the opportunity to connect with each other during other recreational activities such as hiking, rafting, fishing, and nightly bonfire sessions.

The kids that I go to school with aren't really used to having military kids there. Most of them have been living here since they were babies, and I just want to be with kids I can relate to.
