WARRIOR PATHH

“Not too long ago I found myself in a pretty dark place, a place I wasn’t sure I was ever going to come back from.”

-WARRIOR PATHH PARTICIPANT

The stories our participants tell are wrenching. “I was lost.” “I wasn’t prepared for the next step.” “You’re just AWOL, and nobody cares.”

Stress leaves a mark on people that others don’t always see. At Boulder Crest, we see it, understand it, and know how to transform those struggles to strength. Boulder Crest created Warrior PATHH for the hundreds of thousands of warriors who are fighting the battle on the home front: the fight to find a life worth living. The effects of traumatic stress on combat veterans and first responders are the catalyst for Warrior PATHH.

*Warrior PATHH is a peer-based training program that relies on a variety of educational and experiential activities for the purpose of teaching life skills, increasing community integration and involvement, and promoting physical, emotional, relational, financial, and spiritual health. Warrior PATHH is not an outpatient or residential clinical treatment program and does not offer any health care services including, but not limited to, use of licensed healthcare professionals in the delivery of programs or supervision of staff. Warrior PATHH does not involve the provision of health care of any kind including, but not limited to, individual, group, or family counseling or psychotherapy, pharmacological management, or medical interventions. Warrior PATHH is not offered as a substitute or replacement for health care services, which may be ongoing or needed at any time by program participants.

Who is eligible for Warrior PATHH:

Warrior PATHH is available to men and women combat veterans and first responders.

  • Participants MUST be active, retired, or separated from service. We support all military, first responder, reservists and National Guard members.
  • We define a “combat veteran” as anyone who has deployed, or supported a combat zone.
  • We define a “first responder” as anyone who serves their community as a Police Officer, Sheriff’s Deputy, Fire Fighter, EMS, Health Care Worker, or any Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence Agency personnel.

*Warrior PATHH is an approved program of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and is AZ POST Certified.

“Because of Boulder Crest, my future is very bright. My life after service was pretty difficult, I struggled with the transition we have as service members back into civilian life. I felt like I couldn’t have many friendships or close relationships. Boulder Crest helped me heal because it was a different approach to a lot of treatments I had been receiving. I am living proof of how this program actually helps.”

A Growing Need

20 veterans die every day by suicide, and we lose more first responders to suicide every year than in the line of duty.

Nearly, 30% of the 3 million Post-9/11 combat veterans and active first responders struggle with traumatic stress.

Studies consistently show that conventional treatments such as talk therapy and pharmaceuticals, are either ineffective, inaccessible, or both.

We also believe that trauma is contagious, and Boulder Crest has programs for the entire family.

“I felt so alone in my struggles and truly broken. But my biggest takeaway from the Warrior PATHH program: I’m not alone, and I’m not broken. I learned how to transform my trauma from my military and law enforcement careers into strength and growth, so I can thrive in life. I’m committed to going home and creating a deep connection with my wife, my children, and my grandchildren.”
